Great Salt Lake Utah Photography Print | Fremont Island View to the East
About the Artwork
The Story: This tranquil landscape photograph captures a sweeping, grand vista looking east from the golden hills of Fremont Island. Looking back across the Great Salt Lake, the composition reveals the quiet beauty of the water paired with a poignant view of the lake's receding shores. In the far distance, the majestic peaks of the Wasatch Mountains still retain a dusting of winter snow beneath a soft blanket of clouds. As a wildlife conservation photographer, I captured this vast horizon to document the changing footprint of this vital ecosystem while celebrating its enduring splendor. Read more about my trek across the island on my Fremont Island Adventure Blog.
The Technique: Photographed handheld on location while hiking the island's elevated terrain using a high-resolution Nikon D780 camera and a 28-300mm Nikkor zoom lens. To capture the immense scale of the landscape, I utilized a deep depth of field, keeping the immediately surrounding golden grasses, the receding shoreline, and the distant, snow-capped mountain peaks all in sharp, clear focus.
