The Story: This striking wildlife photograph captures a majestic Greater Flamingo gliding gracefully over a vibrant patch of wild yellow spring flowers popping into bloom across the Vendicari Nature Reserve. Soaring with its long neck and legs completely outstretched, a distinctive flight posture that sharply contrasts with the tight, tucked-in silhouette of a Great Blue Heron, the bird beautifully reveals the hidden black flight feathers along its wing tips. The Technique: Captured from a stationary position using a high-resolution Nikon Z8 mirrorless camera and a powerful 200-500mm Nikkor zoom lens, tracking the bird through a fixed, narrow opening in a wetland blind and employing a fast shutter speed to crisply freeze the extended wingspan against the colorful meadow below.
