ADORING

Flamingo with chick, Tracy Aviary, Utah. When I read that there were Flamingo babies at the Aviary for the first time in a very long time, I grabbed my camera and headed downtown. I was surprised at how white they were, and their adorableness drew me in. I photographed them for several hours because they were just so cute. The mothers were very protective of their young ones; there were three of them. In this image, the mother is sitting and the baby is standing. Just look at the expression in the mother’s eye - such adoration, almost like she is surprised at how much she loves this little one.
