Tuscany Turquoise Plant Botanical Print | Sway
About the Artwork
The Story: While wandering the stone streets of a quiet village in Tuscany, Italy, searching for intimate details missed by the casual traveler, I discovered this incredibly beautiful turquoise plant. I sat directly on the ground, completely captivated by the fluid rhythm of the leaves as they seemed to gently sway in the Italian breeze. I stayed for quite some time, capturing a variety of frames until I came away with this precise, tranquil image—a piece that transports the timeless, rustic magic of the Mediterranean straight into your living space.
The Technique: Shot out in the field using a high-resolution Nikon camera and a 28-300mm lens, this digital photograph relies on a tight, compressed perspective. Zooming in closely isolates the unique, chalky turquoise hue and layered contours of the foliage, utilizing the natural light to highlight the crisp edges and deep, cool-toned shadows without losing the raw tactile patterns of the plant.
