The Story
Heavy, dark storm clouds roll ominously over a high-altitude vantage point, casting dramatic shadows down onto the historic village of Cinque Terre and the vast Mediterranean Sea below. Watching the tempest advance from this exposed hilltop required quick action, as the ensuing downpour transformed the steep stone stairways into a rushing river of mid-calf high water during the descent to the safety of the train station. The Technique
This sweeping, high-contrast landscape was captured with a Nikon D780 and 28-300mm Nikkor lens, stabilized on a tripod under heavy rain gear to protect the equipment from the intense incoming deluge.
