The Story
A mother sloth and her tiny baby rest nestled together high in the vibrant rainforest canopy, perfectly awake and alert as they look up through the rich green leaves. Spotted by chance above a roadside fruit stand during a drive across the country, this peaceful pair allowed me to document their quiet, tender bond from a variety of intimate angles beneath their tree sanctuary. The Technique
This sweet canopy portrait was captured using a Nikon Z8 and 200-500mm Nikkor zoom lens, shot handheld for split-second tracking to maintain the flexibility needed to frame the animals through the dense, overlapping forest leaves.
