Phoenix Rebirth

$700.00

The Phoenix and Butterfly both symbolize the essence of rebirth and transformation. In this image the Phoenix is rising from a cocoon as the flames are aiding in the transformation of rebirth. A new version of itself, as a powerful feminine creature, is similar to the butterfly which emerges as a completely different being.

The quintessence of rebirth, the Phoenix rises from its ashes as the spiritual body rises from the dead physical form, as the new sun rises from the old. It is the new condition reached when the return to life is accomplished, namely the resurrection. From the body of the parent, the young Phoenix issues forth, destined to live as long as life as its predecessor. When it has grown up and gained sufficient strength, it lifts its nest from the tree (its own cradle and its parents’s sepulcher), and carries it to the city of Heliopolis in Egypt, and deposits it in the temple of the Sun. From Bulfinch’s Mythology.

(Vertical Format) 40” x 30” Original Oil Painting on linen, Framed
