About the Artwork
The Story: I photographed this Peahen looking over her shoulder, while visiting the foothills of Salt Lake City, and I knew then it would have to be a painting. I couldn’t get over the various subtle colors and textures in this gorgeous bird’s feathers. As I painted this image I would work on each section of the feathers at a time. Special Awards: This piece won The Genevieve Lawrence Founder’s Award for Best Fine Art through AAUW of Utah. It also won Best of Show at Alpine Art and Frame in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Technique: Hand-painted using premium professional-grade archival oil paints, this one-of-a-kind original work is built on a premium canvas base, then then sealed with a professional UV-protective varnish to preserve color brilliance for generations.
