Divine Feminine III
Red, the color of life and rebirth, symbol of life, principle of female matter. The offering of wine as a symbolism to embrace and embody the feminine principles in different ways, through perhaps the shedding of or creating a balance with masculine dominated structures.
I created this series of three images as an invitation to the viewer to embrace the feminine and to help create more of a balance in our patriarchal or masculine dominated structures. It is up to the viewer to interpret whether or not the divine feminine was embraced as the model walks away with the empty glass of wine, or is it too late? The apples in the distance represent a connection to the symbolism surrounding Eve, and entering into a passage where there is no opening.
I painted these images from a live model in my studio in Salt Lake City, Utah.
