Frozen Dandelion Botanical Print | Swimming Deep

$150.00

About the Artwork

  • The Story: There is a delicate, geometric perfection to a common dandelion (Taraxacum) that often goes unnoticed. For this Utah-based study, I completely immersed a large dandelion clock in water and froze it solid for a full 24 hours. The resulting fine art photograph captures the fragile white seeds completely suspended deep within a vibrant, icy blue abyss, transforming a familiar backyard flower into a surreal, aquatic dreamscape.

  • The Technique: Shot in my studio using a high-resolution Nikon camera and a specialized macro lens, this digital photograph is an exploration of delicate structural details. The close-up composition isolates the intricate, feather-like symmetry of the dandelion seeds, using the deep blue water tones to make the white fibers pop with crisp, stunning clarity without casting heavy shadows.
