About the Artwork
The Story: This striking pink dahlia was gifted to me by a friend who knew I was experimenting with freezing flora in water to capture them through a macro lens. I was instantly drawn to the dramatic, sweeping lines and the natural sense of directional movement within this specific blossom.
The Technique: This piece was captured using a high-resolution Nikon camera and a specialized macro lens. When a flower is submerged and frozen, it naturally releases tiny oxygen bubbles. This archival print beautifully preserves those microscopic, frozen bubbles, giving the image a unique, shining texture.
