Frozen Yellow Cone Flowers Botanical Print | Floating

$150.00

About the Artwork

  • The Story: There is a beautiful weightlessness that occurs when nature is suspended in ice. Created in Utah, I fully submerged these bright yellow Cone Flowers (Echinacea) in water and froze them for a complete 24-hour cycle. The freezing process captured the blossoms in a fluid, drifting state, making the golden petals appear as if they are floating peacefully through a calm, crystalline sky. It brings a bright, serene, and uplifting sense of natural wonder into any living space.

  • The Technique: Shot in my studio using a high-resolution Nikon camera and a specialized macro lens, this digital photograph is a detailed study of organic forms trapped in time. The crisp, close-up composition isolates the intricate, radiating layers of the yellow petals and the prominent centers of the cone flowers, using controlled light to capture their delicate textures beneath the ice.
