Divine Feminine I
Red, the color of life and rebirth, symbol of life, principle of female matter. The offering of wine as a symbolism to embrace and embody the feminine principles in different ways, through perhaps the shedding of or creating a balance with masculine dominated structures.
I created this series of three images as an invitation to the viewer to embrace the feminine and to help create more of a balance in our patriarchal or masculine dominated structures. The divine feminine is offering “you” the opportunity to metaphorically partake in the sacred through the wine being offered. The use of red is intentional and represents the color of blood of life and rebirth, hence the symbol of life.
I painted these images from a live model in my studio in Salt Lake City, Utah.
