CHASING DOWN DINNER

Snowy Egret, Bolsa Chica Wetlands, California. Grabbing my camera and long lens, I headed off along the northern section of the trail at Bolsa Chica. I wanted to explore this new section of the wetland, and was uncertain as to what I would find. Fatigue was finally getting to me after I had walked a couple of miles carrying my heavy camera, and I was just about ready to head back, when this Snowy Egret caught my eye. It was searching for food, but I thought.. I have a zillion photos of an egret searching for food. Yet, I raised my camera to take some shots when it started running along the shore, obviously to catch something it had seen in the water. Now, that is a shot I seldom have captures, and I love the action of the overall image with the golden colors in the background.
