American Pelican, Quiet Reflection
The morning light was creating some interesting shadows and highlights, and as I sat on the ground watching this pelican move in and out of the shadows, I waited just until the light hit it perfectly. Fun Note: American White Pelicans never carry food in their bill pouches. They use them to scoop up food but swallow their catch before flying off.
