The intensity of the wind was palpable, the lines sharp and soft lending an abstracted feel to the Mesquite Sand Dunes in Death Valley National Park. 

Climbing up the ridge line of the Mesquite Sand Dunes, the power of the wind surrounded me. The wind created dynamic lines and a softer pallet than one normally sees when observing the dunes in Death Valley. I wanted to capture that moment and then lend an abstraction to the final piece to enhance the emotions I was undergoing at that moment - dark yet light.
