Move along the ridge line of the Mesquite Sand Dunes of Death Valley National Park, to take in the full vista of the dunes and the surrounding mountains.
Dark clouds were looming over Death Valley and occasionally the sun would poke through and light up a ridgeline through the impressive sandstorm.
Walking along the ridges of the Mesquite Sand Dunes, I kept an eye on my vehicle in the parking lot, trying to estimate how long it would take to get back should the sky open. With the ever present wind, my footsteps and those of others were quickly being covered, enabling me to capture this ridge line as I stood on one just slightly higher.
I love the line that leads the eye to the distant mountains and the furious looking clouds. This image gives one the feeling of being alone in a vast wilderness and would invite you in for a period of quiet reflection. If you are interested, this piece would look dynamic printed on a large scale canvas.
